Interesting. I clicked on your profile link in Silliman’s Blog and wound up here. For what it’s worth, the part about the coins disappearing/not disappearing reminds me of Beckett’s Molloy, which I just happened to be reading yesterday while I was having the oil changed in my mother’s car.
